A simple but innovative framework for building better business performance through wellbeing.
"Quite simply the Better Business Formula can be used as a diagnostic tool, or as a framework for developing a more strategic and coherent wellbeing offering."
The science bit.
The Better@Work model brings together an understanding of the disciplines of business psychology, stress, performance, resilience, mental toughness, positive psychology, personal effectiveness, organisational culture and leadership.
It’s purpose. To provide a simple but effective framework that can be used for both diagnosis and solution generation, as well as tackling the symptoms and causes of poor wellbeing – mental, physical and psychosocial.
Effective at an individual, team and organisational level, it emphasises a shared ownership and responsibility, between the individual and the business
The nature of the framework also means that it has the flexibility to be used for supporting the creation of holistic end-to-end interventions, or integrate with existing wellbeing initiatives.
It helps businesses understand their relative areas of strength, development and risk across the four areas, and where needed, provide the framework for focusing effort into one or two critical areas.

At Pepper we are committed to the wellbeing of our people and so it made sense to partner with Psychology Works to audit the wellbeing of one of our busiest and critical teams in the business.
Psychology Works’ “Wellbeing@Work Journey” is a perfect illustration for the stages in identifying and committing to a Wellbeing Strategy that not only looks after our people, but ultimately is a cost-effective way of doing business, and positions an organisation as an employer of choice.
The Psychology Works Better@Work model, focusing on the themes of Manage, Refuel, Recover and Lead, creates a framework for auditing, or checking the pulse on the team, and has encouraged healthy conversations and challenge in the organisation. The detailed insights aggregated from a wide range of testing initiatives meant that the programme left no stone un-turned in its pursuit of opportunities for improvement, but also celebrated the successes.
Already changes have been implemented as a result of these insights at both an individual and an organisational level, and the participants have been unanimously positive about the experience.
